This little guy decided to arrive about 8 weeks prior to his due date. After some time in the hospital, he was finally able to come home safe and sound! This is R at four weeks , still so sleepy and curly…

Yes, its a wedding! No need to check your url in the browser, you have arrived at the Shutterbox Photos blog, lol! I first met Tom & Nicole a couple of summers ago after they were engaged. Last summer, when they asked me to photograph their upcoming wedding, I thought that they were crazy since I had never photographed one before. They sure are a hard couple to say no too. Not only are they gorgeous and the camera just loves them, but they are truly two of the most genuine people that I have ever met! Needless to say, I could not refuse.
This was a big challenge for me, and I grew as a photographer because of it – and so Tom & Nicole, I am forever grateful to you for that! Thank you so much for allowing us to document this most amazing day for you both!
From their ring bearing turtle named Trinket, to the helicopter that whisked them away , to the super cool 1940’s ford card that chauferred them to the party destination – this was a day that will always be remembered! Even the tourists that were in town had heard about “The Wedding” and were whispering all about it!!! So on to the wedding…the first, the last, and the only wedding that I will be photographing…lol!
ETA: Woe ! This turned in to a huge mother of a picture post! Grab a cup of coffee!

On to the party…

Don’t go away now…these next few images are highlights from the crazy photo booth! All shot by my incredible husband Joe and my right arm for this event!

For the last few summers, I have been fortunate enough to visit Ketchikan for a few days each year. In the later part of last month, I had the opportunity to go up again and this time it was a whole mix of all kinds of fun stuff – from high school senior pictures to a wedding (more on that later!) and some gorgeous family portrait sessions in between. I saw some familiar faces and met some new ones too! Here is a little peek at this past summer trip….
It all started a few years ago with the Kamm Family of Seawind Aviation when they booked me for some family portraits here in Seattle a few years back.

Then next was this gorgeous high school senior! For her senior pictures, we decided to venture in to the town of Ketchikan and see what we could find! It was quite fun!

Next up was this gorgeous family with three cute little kiddos! We took a boat to one of their fishing lodges for this photo session! The location was very remote and so incredible gorgeous!!

Ok, and last but not least is this gorgeous family!! We decided to find some new locations to shoot, and this spot was even new to this local family.

I met this incredible family just a couple of weeks ago, and we decided to venture out to this gorgeous park for the session! It was glorious sunny weather all day that day, and of course, when we met for our session in the late afternoon – dark stormy clouds started to roll in. Well, rain schmain! It sort of comes with the territory here in Seattle! So we went on with it, and ran through the tall grass and played on the couch – and then, we started seeing lightning and hearing thunder! Good thing that waited until near the end of the session! Here is a sneak peek of a few of the images from that evening!
